I just heard Matt Giovanisci admit total failure on his podcast.
His new sales funnel got zero sales. Not a few sales. Zero.
And looking at what he changed, I spotted a mistake I keep seeing everywhere – especially from people getting ready to run paid ads.
Here’s the thing about paid ads: They’re nothing like organic social.
With organic social, you spend time. That time’s gone whether it works or not. But with paid ads? You’re spending real money that needs to come back – fast.
What did Matt change? He took his simple offer (a $497 course at 50% off) and made it complicated. Now he offers a choice: buy a $70 book or get the course at full price.
He says this gives new subscribers a “better experience.”
You know what’s actually a better experience? Having a safe, clean pool instead of a swampy mess that could make your kids sick.
If you have something people need, sell it. Don’t water it down. Don’t offer cheaper alternatives. That just tells people your solution isn’t essential.
This is why I love paid ads. Yes, they cost money. But they’re perfect for the strategically lazy. Your money works while you sleep. Get those front-end sales right, and half your business is solved.
Plus, once you have buyers, getting them to buy again is so much easier.
